Farm-made treats and eats

In the Ballykenver Farmshop (it’s a real farm shop, on a 200-year-old dairy farm with 150 grass-fed dairy cows) you can buy small-batch jams, chutneys, curds, sauces and award-winning puddings that Amanda makes by hand in her kitchen.

Plus you can choose from a whole range of locally-grown and locally-made quality artisanal food and drinks that Amanda has hand-picked, including cheeses, fresh breads, farm-fresh produce, honey, snacks, beverages and more – everything you need to feed the family.

Look out for the new expanded Farm Shop coming in 2023, serving up delicious takeaway coffees and pastries, and fresh pasteurised milk direct from Amanda’s farm. Just bring your own bottle and pay for what you need.

Everything Amanda makes and sells in the Farm Shop is of the highest quality, available to everyone, at a fair price. It’s part of her commitment to giving local people access to the very best food that’s grown and produced locally.

When jam was literally on the doorstep…

A farmer’s wife making preserves and award-winning puddings. She studied a National Diploma in Food Technology at Loughry College in Cookstown, worked in Quality Assurance in the food industry, and had an HNC in Food Supply Management and has had various jobs in the Food Industry..

The idea for the business had been around for years, but things really took off in 2016 when Amanda discovered a big batch of rhubarb growing on the farm and decided to make some rhubarb jam. She had so much—and it was so scrumptious—she asked a local shop to stock it, and sold it from her own doorstep alongside an honesty box.

Demand grew and she expanded into Christmas puddings, sticky toffee puddings and more… and she kept on going. The thing about Amanda is that she’s an absolute whirlwind of energy, ideas and enthusiasm, and nothing stops her. In fact, the busier she is, the more she energy she has!

Amanda’s ethical approach to farming, belief in good food for all, commitment to sustainability and passion for the land are infectious and everyone who meets her can’t help but feel the same. Born and bred in County Antrim, Amanda is warm and welcoming, and a friend to everyone who visits.
